Retrieve Log Files

Our support team may ask you to retrieve log files from your Mac. Log files can help our team understand what is happening on your computer. Here's how to retrieve log files from your Mac:

  1. Open the Terminal application, located in the Applications > Utilities folder
  2. Copy the following command: log show --last 1d --info --predicate "process == 'Direct Mail' && eventType == logEvent && not(subsystem beginswith 'com.apple.network') && not(category == 'PerformanceLogging')"
  3. Paste the command into the Terminal window and press the return key on your keyboard
  4. Log messages will appear in the Terminal window. Please select all of the messages (choose Edit > Select All from the menu bar), copy, and paste them into an email to us.
