Opening your project from another Mac

This help article is for an old version of Direct Mail.

Projects in the cloud can be opened from any Mac. Here's how:

  1. Make sure the Mac has the Direct Mail app installed
  2. Open Direct Mail
  3. Choose File > Open from Cloud
  4. If necessary, sign in to your Direct Mail account
  5. Select the project and click Open

The first time you open a project on another Mac, Direct Mail has to download the entire project. If your project is large, this process may take a long time. You do not need to attend your computer while the download is in progress. It can run in the background, and will continue automatically if your Internet connection is interrupted.

Once a project has downloaded, syncing changes is very fast.

Opening your project on a public computer

If you are opening your project on a computer that is not always under your control, you may not want to leave your Direct Mail account signed in after you leave. To prevent other people from accessing your projects or data, be sure and sign out of your Direct Mail account when you're finished:

  1. Choose Direct Mail > Direct Mail Account from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Click Sign Out

Signing out will remove all cloud data that has been downloaded and keeps your account safe.

If you forget to sign out, you can do so remotely from another computer:

  1. Choose Direct Mail > Direct Mail Account from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll down to the Account Activity section
  3. Click the X icon to end any unwanted account activity on other devices.
