Remove Background

This help article is for an old version of Direct Mail.

Use the remove background tool to remove contiguous areas of color in an image.

One common use case for this tool is removing white backgrounds from a logo so that it blends in better with the background color of your email design. For example, if your logo looks this:

remove-background-before.jpg

…you can use the remove background tool to make it look like this:

remove-background-after.jpg

To use the remove background tool:

  1. Open the image editor
  2. Check the "Remove Background" checkbox; a small preview image will appear
  3. Click and drag on the colors in the preview image that you want to remove. As you continue to drag, Direct Mail will remove additional colors that are similar to the color you clicked on.
  4. If you clicked on a color you did not mean to, or you're not happy with the result of removing a color, click the "Undo" button to revert one step.
